NAUGATUCK - Helen Soboleski, 87, passed away peacefully on May 5, 2012 at Waterbury Hospital with her son Mark at her side. She was the wife of the late Henry M. Soboleski.
Mrs. Soboleski was born February 6, 1925 in Ansonia, the daughter of the late Paul and Rose (Biga) Metelski. She was a longtime Naugatuck resident, where she was a communicant of St. Francis Church. She was employed for 23 years at the Peter and Paul Company.
Mrs. Soboleski is survived by her sons Henry Soboleski and his wife Ginger of Kapaa, HI and Mark Soboleski and his wife Rose of Oakville, with whom she made her home; her grandchildren Michelle and Brett Soboleski of Hawaii, Melanie Vasas and her husband Jason of Waterbury, Rachel Hatton of Naugatuck, Jennifer Bostrom and her husband Robert of Wallingford and Grant Soboleski of Oakville; nine great grandchildren; her daughters-in-law Ann and Claudette Soboleski and several nieces and nephews. Besides her husband, she is predeceased by her sons Gregory and Robert and her siblings John Panko, Frances Soboleski, Julia Sardo and Leon Metelski.
Arrangements - Funeral services will be held on Wednesday May 9, 2012, 10:15 am from the Alderson Funeral Home of Naugatuck, 201 Meadow St. to St. Francis Church for Mass at 11 a.m. Burial will follow in St. James Cemetery. Calling hours will be held on Tuesday from 4 to 7 p.m. at the funeral home. Memorial contributions may be made to the American Heart Association, 405 Highland Ave., Waterbury 06708.
