Dr. Helen Tanya Gilham, Ph.D., of Naugatuck, passed away Saturday Dec. 7, 2013 at her home. She was the wife of Thomas Ruschak.
Dr. Gilham was born in Sydney Australia, July 22, 1957, a daughter of the late Peter and Larissa Gilham and had been a Naugatuck resident for the past 7 years, moving here from Lafayette, Ind. She received her undergraduate and master's degree from Purdue University and her Doctorate from Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute in Troy, N.Y. She worked as a Technical Writer with Pitney Bowes Inc.
In addition to her husband, Tom, she leaves a son, Robert Wolf of Lexington, Ky.; one daughter, India Gilham-Westerman of St. Michael's, Md. and one brother, Greg Gilham of Columbus, Oh.
A memorial service will be held in Ohio at a later date. There are no calling hours. The Alderson Funeral Home of Naugatuck, 201 Meadow St. is assisting with the arrangements.
