Donald Hedman Jr

Cheshire, CT Donald Karl Hedman, Jr., 68, died unexpectedly on December 22, 2023 at his home.

Don was born April 12, 1955 in Waterbury, CT a son of the late Donald Karl Hedman, Sr. and Mary Ann (Tuohy) Hedman. Don was raised in Naugatuck where he graduated from St. Francis Grammar School and Naugatuck High School. Don retired in 2020 after working for 45 years as a master toolmaker for various companies, most recently for Cly-Del Manufacturing in Waterbury.

Don loved the Detroit Tigers, the Denver Broncos, fishing, John Wayne, vintage films and mostly his beloved dog, Tasha.

Don is survived by his sons, Michael Dyer of Torrington, CT and Donald Dyer of Florida; his grandchildren, Alyssa Arlene Dyer and Joseph Daniel Dyer both of Thomaston, CT; his brother, Tracy Hedman of Oswego, NY; his sister, Annalee Capobianco of Cheshire, CT; his nephews, Tracy Hedman and Jessie Hedman both of Oswego, NY; two aunts and many cousins. In addition to his parents, Don was predeceased by his brother, Jeffrey Hedman.

All services will be private and at the convenience of the family. There are no calling hours and arrangements have been entrusted to the Buckmiller Thurston Mengacci Funeral Home, 82 Fairview Avenue, Naugatuck.
