CHESHIRE - Heather Ann Medling-Duffy, 42, passed away on Monday, January 4, 2021 at her home. She was the wife of Patrick A. Duffy.
Heather was born February 26, 1978 in New Haven, the daughter of Sharon (Vaccaro) Medling of Cheshire and the late John H. Medling.
She was a longtime Cheshire resident where she was educated in local schools, graduating from Cheshire High School. After her graduation, she worked in various restaurants and eateries before taking over her father’s insurance business. While in the insurance industry, Heather was fortunate enough to become partners in Lucente-Medling Associates in Litchfield. As a woman of strong faith, Heather was a member of Christ Church Fellowship in Waterbury.
Prior to her illness, Heather had a passion for cooking. She was extremely active, hiking, traveling and most importantly, helping others.
Besides her husband and her mother, Heather is survived by her children Gabriel Page, John, Riley and William Duffy and; her siblings Ethan Medling and his wife Stephanie, Jonathan Medling and his wife Amanda, and Nicole Lee and her husband Tom; her uncle Victor Vaccaro and his wife Nancy and their children Taylor and Jordan as well as many extended family members. In addition to her father, Heather is predeceased by her son Elijah Shelton.
Arrangements – Funeral services will be held on Saturday, January 9, 2021, at 10:00 AM at the Alderson-Ford Funeral Home of Cheshire. Those that cannot attend in person are welcome to visit Heather’s Tribute Wall on the funeral home website as the service will be streamed live. Burial will follow in All Saints Cemetery, North Haven. Visitation will be held on Friday from 4 to 7 at the funeral home. In lieu of flowers, Heather would encourage you to read from the Bible or attend church.
