Hazel Reutenauer

Cheshire - Hazel Reutenauer, 81, passed away December 27, 2015. She was the wife of Dr. Donald Reutenauer.

She was born in New Haven, the daughter of the late Peder Christian Pedersen Sr. and Rigmor Nielsen Pedersen. Hazel lived in Cheshire with her husband and family for the past 56 years.

Hazel graduated from Quinnipiac University and then worked as an administrative secretary at the Safety Car Industries in Hamden. She was an avid bowler as a young woman and also did volunteer work in the Cheshire School system. In her later years, she enjoyed boating with her husband at the Branford Yacht Club.

In addition to her husband, Hazel is survived by her son, Donald C. Reutenauer (Kim) of Wallingford; her daughters Denise Latko (Carl) of Bristol, and Donna Perriello (John) of Southington; her three grandchildren, Amanda Perriello, Eric Latko, and Rilee Reutenauer; her younger brother, Peder Pedersen (Susan), of Vermont. She was predeceased by a brother Paul “Buddy" Pedersen.

Arrangements - Burial will be held at the convenience of the family and there are no calling hours. The Alderson-Ford Funeral Home of Cheshire is assisting with arrangements.
