Miss Harriett Therkildsen, 89, of Waterbury passed away Saturday August 8, 2009 at Waterbury Hospital.
Miss Therkildsen was born September 14, 1919 in Waterbury a daughter of the late Martin A. and Ida (Kruse) Therkildsen and was a lifelong Waterbury resident. She attended local schools and was a graduate of Leavenworth High School. She was a Laboratory Technician at Scovill Mfg/Century Brass retiring after many years of service. She was a member of the Order of the Eastern Star Good Will Chapter #112 of Watertown. She was a volunteer for the Arthritis Foundation and the American Cancer Society and was a cancer survivor for over 25 years. She was an avid contester who also enjoyed knitting, crocheting and tatting. She was a member of St. Paul's church.
She leaves many nieces and nephews, great nieces and nephews and a great great niece and nephew.
Funeral services for Miss Therkildsen will be held Wednesday August 12 at 11 a.m. at the Alderson Funeral Home of Waterbury 9 Holmes Avenue. Burial will follow in new Pine Grove Cemetery in Waterbury. Friends may call at the funeral home Wednesday from 10 a.m. until the time of the service.
