NAUGATUCK- Mrs. Harriet (Anderson) McIntyre, 89, of Naugatuck, passed away early Monday morning Oct.24, 2011 at St. Mary's Hospital. She was the widow of Thomas McIntyre.
Mrs. McIntyre was born in Waterbury, Dec. 16, 1921 a daughter of the late Robert and Aida (Sandblom) Anderson and had lived in Naugatuck in her youth and had lived in Waterbury, returning to Naugatuck about 30 years ago. She was a retired employee of the former American Bank of Conn. retiring in 1981 with over 40 years of service. She was a communicant of the Basilica of the Immaculate Conception and a member of the Eucharistic Adoration Society of the parish.
She leaves several cousins, including Henrietta Salvatore and her husband Anthony of Woodbury and Judy Sandblom and Robert Sandblom both of Naugatuck. She also leaves her care givers, Jean, Pam, Janet, Terry, Patty, Linda, Darlene, and Linda, who provided wonderful care and support.
Her funeral will be held on Wednesday, Oct. 26, 2011 at 9:15 a.m. from the Alderson Funeral Home of Naugatuck, 201 Meadow St. and proceed to the Basilica of the Immaculate Conception, 74 West Main St., Waterbury for a Mass of Christian Burial at 10 a.m. Friends may call at the funeral home on Tuesday Oct. 25, 2011 from 5 to 7 p.m. In Lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Stray Katz Rescue Organization of Naugatuck through the funeral home.
