Harold Lerman

SOUTHBURY- Dr. Harold L. Lerman passed away on Wednesday November 2, 2011 at home surrounded by his family. He was the husband of Roslyn (Blynder) Lerman.

Dr. Lerman was born on August 11, 1925 in New Haven, son of the late Paul and Sarah (Rofes) Lerman and stepson of the late Beatrice Lerman and was the youngest of four children.

He served his country in the US Marine Corp during World War II, graduated from the University of South Carolina in 1949, and from Tufts Dental School in 1953. He began his dental practice and career in Thomaston, where he remained in private practice until he retired. After he retired, he worked part time at the Dental Clinic at St. Mary's Hospital for over 20 years.

Dr. Lerman was an avid golfer and loved to ice skate and ski. He enjoyed traveling as well. He was a longtime member of the Country Club of Waterbury and was a founding member of the original Crestbrook Country Club. He loved spending time with his family and especially his grandchildren.

In addition to his beloved wife of 59 years, he is survived by his loving sons, Lewis Lerman (Coleen), of Fairfield, and Barry Lerman (Maura Chilson) of Middlebury. He leaves five grandchildren who will miss him dearly, Brian (Jennifer), Adam (Emily), Tara, Emily and Michael and his former daughter-in-law Annette Lerman. His brother, Edward, and his sister, Helen, predeceased him, and he is survived by his brother, David (Ruth) of Boca Raton, Florida and his sister-in-laws Gertrude Lerman and Myrna Winters.

Arrangements: Graveside services will be held at 11am Sunday November 6th, 2011 at B'Nai Jacob Memorial Park Wintergreen Ave. New Haven, CT followed by a lunch at The Country Club of Waterbury, One Oronoke Road in Waterbury. Shiva will be observed at the home of Mrs. Lerman 807-B Heritage Village, Southbury, CT on Sunday and Monday starting at 7pm. The Alderson Funeral Home of Waterbury, 9 Holmes Ave. is assisting the family with the arrangements.
