Harold Evon

Forestport, NY - Mr. Harold H. Evon, 76, of O'Brien Road formerly of Waterbury died at his home February 26, 2011 after a short illness.

He was born on December 14, 1934, in Waterbury, Connecticut a son of Eugene and Beatrice Moore Evon. He entered the U.S. Navy in 1955 and was discharged in 1958. He then was in the Navy Reserves until 1963. He married Myla Demand on July 22, 1961 at the All Saints Episcopal Church, Wolcott, Connecticut. Harold was superintendent of Frost Homestead Apartments in Waterbury Conn. until retiring several years ago. He enjoyed Hunting, fishing, woodcrafting, gardening and telling jokes. Harold and Myla moved to Forestport in 2004.

Surviving are his wife, Myla; one son, Adolph Cammilletti, Phoenix, Arizona; two daughters, Debra Evon, Winchester, Conn. and Cheryl Zakorchevnoy, Forestport, N.Y.; several grandchildren, great grandchildren and nieces and nephews; three brothers, Eugene Evon, New Hampshire, Roy Evon, St. Thomas, Virgin Islands and Randy Evon, Waterbury Conn. and one sister, Shirley Overton, Thomaston Conn. He was predeceased by his children, Louis Cammilletti, Harold Evon Jr, Andrea Demand, Salena Evon, and several siblings.

A graveside service of cremains with military honors will be held Saturday April 30 at 10 a.m. at New Pine Grove Cemetery in Waterbury.
