Hannah Summa

NAUGATUCK- Mrs. Hannah C. (Owens) Summa, 85, of ., Naugatuck, passed away, early Sunday morning July 18, 2010 at the Waterbury Hospital. She was the widow of Joseph F. Summa who passed away in 2001 after 54 years of marriage.

Mrs. Summa was born in Waterbury, Dec. 19, 1924, a daughter of the late James and Bridget (Kenny) Owens and was a lifelong Naugatuck resident. She was a communicant of St. Francis of Assisi Church.

She leaves one daughter, Helene Summa of New York City; one brother Thomas Owens of Lakeville; two sisters, Margaret Brill of Yardley, PA and Bridget Desmond of Sharon; one grandson Jonathon Hampton of New York City and her sons-in-law, Wade Hampton of New York City and Arthur Sansone of Torrington, and many nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her daughter, Christine Sansone and her son, Joseph J. Summa and her brothers and sisters, Christopher Owens, James Owens, Patrick Owens, Lawrence Owens, Francis Owens, Joseph Owens, Dr. Stephen Owens, Mary Owens and Theresa Kissane.

Her funeral will be held on Saturday July 24, 2010 at 10:15 am from the Alderson Funeral Home of Naugatuck, 201 Meadow St. and proceed to St. Francis of Assisi Church, 318 Church St. for a Mass of Christian Burial at 11 am. Burial will be on Lake Elise Cemetery, Long Meadow Rd., Middlebury. Friends may call at the funeral home on Friday July 23rd, from 5 to 7 pm. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to The Disabled American Veterans of Conn., 35 Cold Spring Rd., Rocky Hill, 06067-3102.
