Waterbury-Mary D. (Samela) Hall, aka, (Maria Domenica Samela), 87, formerly of Prospect where she lived for 55 years, passed away on Monday, October 18, 2010 at Wolcottview Manor Healthcare with her family and the caring and dedicated staff of N-2 at her side. She was the widow of Frederick W. Hall.
Mrs. Hall was born on March 20, 1923 in Waterbury, a daughter of the late Nicola and Margaret (Lovallo) Samela. She loved her family, sewing, knitting, cooking and gardening. She graduated from Anderson Grammar School class of 1936 and from Waterbury Catholic High School class of 1941. She worked for Mussler & Liebiskin Dept. Store as a seamstress and Ben Art Manufacturing in Prospect until her retirement at the age of 65.
She is survived by her daughter, Janet (Hall) (Botelho) Hart and her husband Richard J. Hart, Sr. of Waterbury, her granddaughter, Cassandra (Botelho) (Morin) Diogostine and her husband John Joseph Diogostine, Jr. of Wolcott, three great-grandsons, David Edward Morin, Jr. of Wolcott, John Fredrick Morin of Waterbury, Damon Joseph Diogostine of Wolcott, her great-great grandson, Jordon Christopher Morin of Waterbury, her step-grandson, Richard J. Hart, Jr. and his wife Jennifer (Walters) Hart of Bethlehem, her step great grandchildren, Grace and Adam Hart also of Bethlehem, one brother, Joseph Samela of Waterbury and several nieces and nephews.
She was predeceased by four brothers, William, Daniel, Anthony and Marcus Samela and one sister, Lucy (Samela) Mastrodonato.
The funeral will be held on Friday, October 22, 2010 at 10:30 a.m. from the Buckmiller Brothers Funeral Home, 26 Waterbury Rd, Rte. 69, Prospect to St. Anthony's Roman Catholic Church for a mass at 11:00 a.m. Burial will be in Prospect Cemetery. Friends may call at the funeral home the morning of the funeral from 9:30-10:30 a.m.
