Naugatuck - Mr. Gary W. Grom, age 57, of Naugatuck died unexpectedly on Sunday December 4,2011. He was
the husband of Susan G. (Prince) Grom.
Mr. Grom was born in Bridgeport on July 29,1954 a son of Louise (Smith) Grom of Bridgeport and the late Walter Grom. He was employed as a civil engineer at Pereira Engineering in Shelton and was a communicant of St. Vincent Ferrer Church in Naugatuck. He was a very active member of the Park City Pride Drum Corps and was a past coach and treasurer for the Union City Little League and served as the treasurer for the Naugatuck High School Marching Band from 2001 - 2004. Gary was an avid New York Yankees and Green Bay Packers fan.
Besides his Wife and Mother, Mr. Grom is survived by a daughter, Michele Grom of Naugatuck, two sons, Brian Grom and his wife Sandra Esteves of Prospect and Matthew Grom and his wife Jaclyn of Naugatuck, three brothers, Karl Grom and his wife Sharon of Shelton, Kirk Grom of Milford, and Glen Grom and his wife Susan of Southbury, a brother in law, Thomas Prince of Boston, Ma., brother in law and sister in law, Diane and Dominic DePiano of Naugatuck, brother in law and sister in law Kathleen and Robert Stango of Wisconsin, 4 grandchildren, Alyssa Esteves, Nathan Grom, Megan Grom and Alexina Grom, several nieces and nephews and also his Park City Pride Brothers and Sisters.
The funeral will be held on Friday December 9,2011 at 9:15 a.m. from the Buckmiller Brothers Funeral Home 26 Waterbury Rd. Route 69 Prospect to St. Vincent Ferrer Church 1006 New Haven Rd. Naugatuck for a mass at 10 a.m. Burial will be in St. James Cemetery in Naugatuck. Friends may call at the funeral home on Thursday December 8,2011 from 4 to 8 p.m.
