Mrs. Beatrice A. Gribinas Uniroyal retiree
NAUGATUCK — Beatrice Ann Gribinas, 93, of 265 Maple Hill Road, died peacefully two days after her birthday on Thursday, May 3, 2012, at Masonicare in Wallingford after a brief illness. She was predeceased by her husband, Victor George Gribinas, who passed away in 1993, and her daughter, Ruth Diane (Gribinas) Zagroba, who passed away in 2009.
Mrs. Gribinas was born May 1, 1919, in Waterbury, daughter of the late John Peter and Mikalina (Pranitis) Czingus. She attended and graduated from Waterbury schools, including St. Joseph 's Grammar School which she always loved to tell old stories about. She lived in Waterbury until moving to Naugatuck in 1952. She was a resident there for 60 years until recently moving to Mulberry Gardens in Southington. Although her residence there was brief, she made many friends who enjoyed her company.
She was a retired employee of Uniroyal Inc. Footwear Division. She was a communicant of St. Mary's Church. She was a loving and caring mother to her children, an affectionate pet owner to all her beloved dogs and cats, an exceptional flower gardener, a lovely hostess for dinner parties for her family and friends, and a fabulous cook, her specialty being the annual Christmas Lithuanian kugeli dish.
She is survived by her son, Richard Gribinas and his wife, Geraldine Gribinas, of Southington.
The funeral will be held on Monday, May 7, 2012, at 9:30 a.m. from the Buckmiller Brothers Funeral Home, 26 Waterbury Road, Prospect, to St. Anthony Roman Catholic Church, 4 Union City Road, Prospect, for a Mass at 10 a.m. Burial will be in Calvary Cemetery, Waterbury. Friends may call at the funeral home on Sunday from 2 to 5 p.m.
