Cheshire - Gretchen Brockett, 85 passed away surrounded by her family on Saturday, August 31, 2024, at Elim Park Health Care & Rehabilitation. She was the wife of Raymond Brockett.
Beloved by her husband and family, Gretchen was born on June 10, 1939, in Pottsville, PA, the daughter of the late Daniel and Kathryne (Julian) Cole. She was a longtime resident of Huntington, Connecticut, and then The Villages Florida until she and her husband returned to Connecticut to live at Elim Park in December 2023. Gretchen was a communicant of St. Bridget of Sweden Parish in Cheshire.
In addition to her husband of 66 years, she is survived by her children Kathryne Brockett Marra and her husband Frederick, Daniel R Brockett and his wife Eugenia, David M Brockett and his wife Susan, Rosemary Brockett Vegliante and her husband Steven; her grandchildren Patrick Marra and his wife Jenn, Ryan Brockett and his wife Courtney, Scott Vegliante and his wife Katelyn, Molly McMahon and her husband John, Julia Brockett, Matthew Brockett, Allison DeSimone and her husband Victor, James Brockett, Gregory Brockett, Alana Brockett; her greatgrandchildren Rose Marra, Declan Marra, Maeve Marra, Ryan McMahon, and Brock McMahon. In addition to her parents, she is predeceased by her brothers Daniel Frances Cole, Jr. and Joseph Robert Cole.
Arrangements – A Mass of Christian Burial will be held Saturday, September 14, 2024, at St. Bridget of Sweden Parish – St. Bridget Church, 175 Main St., Cheshire at 12:00 noon. Friends are asked to meet directly at church as there are no calling hours. Inurnment will follow at St. Bridget Cemetery. Memorial contributions may be made to St. Jude’s Shrine, Nationwide Center of St. Jude Devotions, 512 W. Saratoga St., Baltimore, MD 21201 or by clicking HERE.
