David Grande

Naugatuck, CT David J. Grande, 73, the husband of Jacqueline (Schultz) Grande, died peacefully October 17, 2018 at his home.

David was born on January 4, 1945 in Yonkers, NY the son of the late Patrick and Sophie (Adorno) Grande. He lived in Naugatuck since 1949 and worked at Risdon Manufacturing until they closed. David coached baseball at Peter J. Foley Little League and Union City Little League and basketball at St. Francis School. He was a fan of the New York Giants and of UCONN Womens Basketball.

In addition to Jacqueline, his wife of 51 years, David leaves his sons, Patrick Grande (Polly), Joseph Grande (Emily), John Grande and Steven Grande; his grandchildren, Claire Grande, Sophia Miller-Grande, Benjamin Miller-Grande and William Miller-Grande; his sisters, Carmela Grande and Patricia DeSomma (Joseph); several nieces and nephews and his English Bulldog Dixie.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated Monday at 11:00am at St. Mary’s Church, 338 N. Main Street, Union City. Burial will follow in St. James Cemetery. Calling hours are Monday from 9:00am to 10:30am at Buckmiller Thurston Mengacci Funeral Home, 82 Fairview Avenue.
