Gloria Faye Gagne

Gloria Faye Gagne, age 87 of Cheshire, joined her family and friends in Heaven on Sunday, October 9, 2022.  She was the devoted wife of the late Achille “Pete” Gagne Jr. for 40 years until his passing in 1992.  Gloria was born on December 22, 1934 at home in Somerville, MA, daughter of the late Harold “Shorty” and Dorothy “Dolly” (Richardson) Rivers.

She and Pete met while he was still serving in the US Navy in Boston and were married in 1952.  Soon after, they moved to Meriden, eventually settling in Cheshire and began their life and family together, raising three children.  Gloria loved her family and friends dearly, and was happiest when hosting may holiday dinners and celebrations.  She was a sun loving beachgoer and spent almost 50 years at her summer home on Onset Beach in Cape Cod. 

Gloria is the beloved mother of Craig Gagne Sr. and his partner, Eileen Costello of Cheshire; and Mark Gagne and his wife, Colleen of Buzzards Bay, MA.  She was predeceased by her beautiful daughter, Michelle Faye Gagne in 1985.  Gloria had many cherished grandchildren and great-grandchildren; and will be missed by all.

Friends may greet Gloria’s family at the Alderson-Ford Funeral Home of Cheshire, 615 So. Main Street, Cheshire, CT 06410 on Wednesday, October 12, 2022 from 9AM until 10AM.  At 10AM her funeral procession will leave the funeral home for a Celebration of Life to be held at 10:30AM at the First Congregational Church of Cheshire, 111 Church Drive.  Interment will follow at Cheshire Hillside Cemetery.  To leave online condolences for her family, or to share a story of Gloria, please visit www.fordfh.com
