Mary Ellen Gilmartin Flaherty

Naugatuck, CT Mary Ellen Gilmartin Flaherty, 71, of Naugatuck, passed away peacefully, Monday, March 23, 2015 at St. Mary’s Hospital.
Mary Ellen was born December 1, 1943 in Waterbury, a daughter of the late Francis and Marion (Evans) Gilmartin and had lived in Naugatuck for most of her life. Mary Ellen retired from Connecticut Light and Power, where she had worked as a secretary for many years.
Mary Ellen is survived by her loving son, John C. Flaherty, Jr., her long time companion, Christy Flaherty, her sister, Eileen Boisvert and several nieces, nephews and cousins.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated Tuesday, April 7, 2015 at 9:30am at St. Francis Xavier Church, 625 Baldwin Street, Waterbury. Burial will follow in Calvary Cemetery, Waterbury. There are no calling hours. Arrangements have been entrusted to the Buckmiller Thurston Mengacci Funeral Home, 82 Fairview Avenue.
