Middlebury, CT Brian Michael Gibran, 42, died September 13, 2024 at his home from complications from gall bladder surgery and pancreatitis.
Brian was born on February 3, 1982 in Belleview, Illinois. He lived most of his life in Naugatuck and for the past three years in Middlebury with his grandmother. Brian graduated from the Porter and Chester Institute and had worked as a manager at Valvoline in West Haven, Amity and Wallingford and most recently worked as a landscaper. Brian enjoyed the outdoors and he was an avid NY Yankees and Buffalo Bills fan.
Brian is survived by his father, Charles M. “Chuck” Gibran; his mother, Denise Winslow and her significant other, Robert Kulmatycski; his maternal grandmother, Barbara Winslow and her significant other, Gaylord Sanford; his sister, Jennifer Gibran; his nephew and godson, Nathan July; his aunts, Ann Gibran and Catherine Gibran; his uncles and aunts, Keith and Chris Winslow and Ron and Kai Winslow; his great uncle, Edward Hanson; his great uncle and great aunt, Jeff and Donna Hanson and many cousins. Brian was predeceased by his paternal grandparents, Charles and Mary Gibran and his maternal grandfather, Ronald Winslow, Sr., who was his best friend and who taught him how to fish and hunt and enjoy the outdoors.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated Thursday, September 19, 2024 at 10:00am at St. Francis of Assisi Church, 318 Church Street, Naugatuck. Everyone attending Mass is kindly asked to please meet directly at church. Burial will follow in St. James Cemetery, Cross Street, Naugatuck. There are no calling hours and arrangements have been entrusted to the Buckmiller Thurston Mengacci Funeral Home, 82 Fairview Avenue, Naugatuck, In lieu of flowers and to honor Brian’s memory, donations are requested to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital, 501 St. Jude Place, Memphis, TN 38105 or at www.stjude.org.
