Naugatuck, CT Edward Gesseck, 92, husband of Helen (Pompano) Gesseck, died peacefully on Friday, December 30, 2016, at The Village at East Farms with loving family by his side.
Edward was born on March 4, 1924, in Naugatuck, Conn. He was the son of the late Bridget Gesseck Klaneski and Adam Gesseck, a Borough resident for most of his life, and a graduate of Naugatuck High School.
After completing an enlistment in the U.S. Army during World War II, he began a lifelong career with the Risdon Corporation.
In addition to his wife, Helen, Ed is survived by his sister Mary Zdonczyk of Cheshire and several nieces and nephews.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 10 a.m. on Friday, January 6, 2017, at St. Francis of Assisi Church, 318 Church Street, Naugatuck. Burial with Military Honors will follow in St. James Cemetery. Those planning to attend are asked to please go directly to the church. There are no calling hours and arrangements have been entrusted to the Buckmiller Thurston Mengacci Funeral Home, 82 Fairview Avenue, Naugatuck.
