Geraldine Christenson

WATERBURY- Geraldine M. Christenson, 82, passed away Saturday September 28, 2013 at Waterbury Hospital. She was predeceased by her husband Norman Christenson Sr.

She was born May 25, 1931 in Waterbury, daughter of the late Leo and Anna (Neumann) Kraus.

Geraldine was a graduate of Crosby High School. She attended Connecticut College in New London. She was employed at S.N.E.T as an Operator prior to her retirement.

In her free time she loved gardening,camping, travel, and was an avid Boston Red Sox and UConn Huskies basketball fan. She was a patriotic supporter of the military, and had performed volunteer work for the Republican party. She also loved animals and rescued many during her life. She will be missed more than words could express, and was the best mother and friend one could ever ask for.

Geraldine is survived by two sons Norman Jr. and his wife Mary Christenson of Waterbury, and Martin Christenson of Waterbury; two daughters Linda Christenson and her companion James Matlock with whom she made her home , and Jo-Ann Timm of Bethel; a granddaughter Laurie Makarczyk and husband Tony of Sacramento, CA; and a great grandson A.J Makarczyk.

Arrangements- A Memorial Service will be held 11 A.M Thursday October 3, 2013 at the Basilica of the Immaculate Conception, 74 West Main St, Waterbury, 06710. There are no calling hours.
