WATERBURY- Mr. George M. Nettleton, 88 of Waterbury, passed away Sunday evening Nov. 29, 2015 at his home. He was the husband of Eunice (Voland) Nettleton.
Mr. Nettleton was born in Milford, Dec. 18, 1926, a son of the late Reginald and Marguerite (Grasson) Nettleton and was a Woodbury resident for many years. He was a Korean War Veteran, having served in the U.S. Army and a retired Builder and Developer, retiring in 2008 after more than 60 years in business. He was a member of B’Nai Shalom Synagogue.
Besides his wife of 62 years, he leaves four son, Timothy Nettleton of Waterbury, G. Thomas Nettleton (Cynthia) of Shelton, Bryan Nettleton of Southbury, and Matthew Nettleton (Gilah) of Muncie, N.Y.; two daughters, Dawn Wilda and Dorothy Sperry (Kenneth), both of Woodbury; one brother Robert Nettleton of Woodbury and one sister, Betty Davis (Trevor) of Orange; 19 grandchildren, 8 great-grandchildren and several nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by a daughter, Jill (Nettleton) Jacobson.
Funeral services will be held Tuesday (TODAY) Dec. 1, 2015 at 12 noon at B’Nai Shalom Synagogue, 135 Roseland Ave., Waterbury, 06710. Burial will follow in Hebrew Benefit Cemetery, Stillson Rd., Waterbury, with full military honors. Shiva will be observed at the family residence 47 Euclid Ave. on Tuesday, Wednesday, and Thursday with a Shiva Minyan each evening. The Alderson-Ford Funeral Home of Waterbury, 9 Holmes Ave. is assisting the family with the arrangements.
