Cheshire - George C. Harte Jr., 79, passed away on Sunday, October 23, 2022, at LiveWell in Plantsville.

Mr. Harte was born November 30, 1942, in Brooklyn, NY, the son of the late George and Helen (Fox) Harte Sr. He had owned and operated the Harte Auto Group for many years until his retirement in 2012. He was an avid reader who enjoyed the arts by visiting the theater and museums.

He is survived by his sons Gregory Harte, his wife Holly, Thomas Harte, his wife Kathleen; his daughter Meghan Harte-Brown and her husband Richard; his former wife Rosanne Harte; his sister Kate Baggett and her husband Sam; his grandchildren Dylan and his wife Alyssa, Garrison, Spencer, Ricky, Jason, Evan, Pierce, Brady, Colton, Kennedy, Eli; his great-grandchildren RJ and Cali; as well as many nieces, nephews, great-nieces, and great-nephews. In addition to his parents, he is predeceased by his in-laws Anthony and Mary (Caracappa) Sasso.

Arrangements – Visitation will be held on Thursday, October 27, 2022, from 11 am until 1 pm at the Alderson-Ford Funeral Home of Cheshire, 615 S. Main St. A Graveside service will follow visitation at 1:30 pm at Cheshire Hillside Cemetery.

Memorial contributions may be made to https://livewell.org/hartedonations/ or to the Alzheimer’s Association to raise awareness and funds for Alzheimer’s care, and support by visiting http://act.alz.org/goto/HarteFamily.  The funds raised will go to the memory of George Harte who bravely fought the disease with dignity and courage.  His memory lives on through his 3 children, their spouses, and numerous grandchildren, nieces, and nephews.
