NAUGATUCK - George F. Krodel, 72, passed away Monday, July 18, 2016 at Waterbury Hospital. He was the beloved husband of Roseann (Santoro) Krodel.
Mr. Krodel was born March 26, 1944 in Waterbury, the son of the late William and Celia (Clark) Krodel. He attended Quinnipiac University where he earned his Bachelor's degree in accounting. He was a longtime leader within the Naugatuck Republican Party serving six terms as Burgess and two terms as a member of the Board of Education. He had worked for many years at his family’s business, The Krodel Foundry in Waterbury while running George Krodel Realty.
Besides his wife of 43 years, Mr. Krodel is survived by his son George Krodel, Jr. of Boston; his daughter Helena Krodel Wegweiser and her husband David of Brooklyn, NY; his sister Jean Hacker; his brother William H. Krodel; as well as his granddaughter, Presley. He is predeceased by his Sister, Vera Ann Krodel.
Arrangements - The funeral will be held Saturday, July 23, 2016, 11:30 from the Alderson-Ford Funeral Home of Naugatuck, to St. Michael's Episcopal Church, 210 Church Street for a funeral service at 12:00 p.m. The wake and calling hours will be held on Saturday from 9:30 - 11:30 a.m. at the funeral home. A gathering for friends and family will be held at 1:00 pm at the home of The Krodels. Burial will be held at the convenience of the family.
