George B. Dowden

CHESHIRE – George B. Dowden, 90, passed away on Saturday, September 21, 2024, at his home in Cheshire. He was the husband of Helen (Mee) Dowden.

Mr. Dowden was born November 3, 1933, in Milford, MA., son of the late Charles and Emily (Dunford) Dowden. He was a retired from a local manufacturing company, where he worked as a machinist. Mr. Dowden honorably served his country in the Army National Guard during the Korean Conflict.

In addition to his wife, Mr. Dowden leaves behind his brothers Keith (“Keetie”) Dowden, and his wife, Carol, and their family, of North Grosvenor Dale, Charles (“Buddy”) Dowden Jr., and his wife Linda, and their family, of Fultondale, Alabama, and William Lawrence Dowden and his wife Eliana, and their family, of Milford, Massachusetts; his grandson, Matthew Dowden, of Waterford; and his granddaughter, Erica LaFrance, and her husband, Brian LaFrance, of North Carolina. He also leaves his 9 great grandchildren Gabby, Brooke, Emily, Caitlynn, Bryce, Lindsey, Taylor, Julie, and Zachary, along with his great grand dog Tanner. In addition to his parents, Mr. Dowden was predeceased by his son, Joel Dowden, and his brother, Robert Kearsley.

He will be missed by family, friends, neighbors, and his community.

Arrangements: – A graveside service for Mr. Dowden will be held at 9:30 A.M. on Thursday, September 26, 2024 at St. Bridget Cemetery in Cheshire. There are no calling hours and the Alderson-Ford Funeral Home of Cheshire is assisting with arrangements.
