Mr. George William Demske, 87, formerly of 1660 East Main St, died late Tuesday evening at St. Marys Hospital. He was the husband of the late Edith (Lembo) Demske.Mr. Demske was born in Waterbury July 3, 1921, a son of the late Paul and Anne (Miller) Demske and was educated in the local school system. He was a graduate of Leavenworth High School.. He was a veteran the WW II having served in the U.S. Navy from 1944 through 1946, and was awarded the Asiatic-Pacific Theater Ribbon with one star, the American Theater Ribbon and the Victory medal. He retired in 1984 from Scovill Mfg. Co. after 45 years of service. He leaves one son Wayne W. Demske of Seymour and one daughter Ann Fortier of Waterbury; 2 grandchildren and 3 great-grandchildren. He was predeceased by a son George W. Demske, Jr. Funeral services will be held on Friday at 10:30 a.m. at the Alderson Funeral Home of Waterbury, 9 Holmes Ave. Burial with full military honor will be in new Pine Grove Cemetery, 850 Meriden Rd., Waterbury. Friends may call at the funeral home on Friday morning from 9:30 a.m. until the time of the service.
