George Breen

Mr. George J. Breen, 81, of Waterbury passed away Wednesday November 11, 2009 at Crescent Manor in Waterbury.

Mr. Breen was born June 25, 1928 in Waterbury a son of the late M. Joseph and Katherine (Corrigan) Breen and was a lifelong Waterbury resident. He was educated in Waterbury schools and had worked for the United States Postal service in Waterbury for many years prior to his retirement. He was a US Army veteran serving during the Korean War. He had also served two years in the Army reserve and for three years had volunteered to help with atomic testing off the coast of Japan. Mr. Breen was a Communicant of the Basilica of the Immaculate Conception.

He leaves his brother, John P. Breen of Brookfield and his sisters, Sister Mary Breen of the Sisters of Mercy and Sally Frost of The Woodlands, Texas

Funeral services for Mr. Breen with burial in New Saint Joseph Cemetery will be held at the convenience of his family. The Alderson Funeral home of Waterbury 9 Holmes Avenue has care of arrangements.
