Genove Ryan

WATERBURY- Mrs. Genove M. (Izzo) Ryan, 79, of 231 Fairfield Ave., passes away early Friday morning Feb. 19, 2010, at the Waterbury Hospital. She was the wife of Hubert "Hugh" Ryan.

Mrs. Ryan was born in Waterbury, February 3, 1931, a daughter of the late Thomas and Angeline (Stango) Izzo and was a lifelong Waterbury resident. She was educated in the local school system and was a graduate of Wilby High School. She retired in 1993 from Kmart, after 17 years of service. She was a communicant of Our Lady of Mt. Carmel Church and a member of St. Ann's Society of the Church.

Besides her husband of 59 years, she leaves two sons, Robert J. Ryan of Waterbury and Michael J. Ryan and is wife Susan Grant of Terryville; one daughter Joyce Dynia and her husband Joseph of Ridgefield; one sister, Angeline Farrell and her husband Raymond of Waterbuy and a sister-in-law, Rosemary Izzo of Waterbury, and 7 grandchildren. She was predeceased by her brother, Michael Izzo

Her funeral will be held on Monday Feb. 22, 2010 at 8:45am from the Alderson Funeral Home of Waterbury, 9 Holmes Ave. and proceed to Our Lady of Mt. Carmel Church 785 Highland Ave. for a Mass of Christian Burial at 9:30am. Entombment will be in Queen of Peace Mausoleum, Calvary Cemetery, Waterbury at the convenience of the family. Friends may call at the funeral home on Sunday Feb. 21st from 4 to 7 pm
