WATERBURY – Gavin M. Zambruski, 36, passed away Tuesday July 30, 2019 at Hartford Hospital after a brief illness. He was the son of Michael and Sandra (Grant) Zambruski of Cheshire.

Gavin was born March 2, 1983 in Falls Church, VA and was raised in Cheshire, graduating from Cheshire High School Class of 2001. He furthered his education at Central Connecticut State University and Louisiana State University obtaining his undergraduate and Masters Degrees. He was a Correction Officer with Cheshire Correctional Institution and was a steward of the Cheshire Correctional Complex Employees AFSME Local 387.

Besides Gavin’s parents, he is survived by his brother Braden “Brad” Zambruski of Cheshire; his close friends Sara Molaver, Jen Amato, and Sam Borkowski as well as several aunts, uncles and cousins.

Gavin’s family would like to thank his D.O.C. family for all of their love and support.

Arrangements – A Celebration of Life will be held on Sunday August 4, 2019 at 1 pm at the Alderson-Ford Funeral Home of Cheshire, 615 S. Main St. Committal will be held at the convenience of the family and there are no calling hours. In lieu of flowers, the family has requested memorial contributions be sent to: CCSU Foundation, Inc. – Gavin Zambruski Scholarship, PO Box 612, New Britain, CT 06050-0612.
