Ellen Jane Creem Garrity, 88, wife of the late William P. Garrity, died November 21, 2009 in Wolcott. Daughter of Daniel and Mary McGrath Creem. Ellen was born on May 10, 1921 in Waterbury, where she lived until moving to Wolcott in 1968. She graduated from Sacred Heart Grammar and Sacret Heart High schools, and was an active member of Sacred Heart parish all the years she lived in Waterbury. She was devoted to her family and attentive to their well being throughout her long life.
She is survived by her four daughters and their husbands, and her seven grandchildren. They are Grace and Andrew Candido of Waterbury, Ellen and Dr. Albert Marano of Watertown, Mary and Bruce England of Wolcott, and Meg and Walter Allen of Wolcott. Ellen's grandchildren are Kate Candido, Albert Marano, Emily Marano, William Marano, Dr. Michael England and his wife Kimberly England, Brian England and Jonathan Allen.
Funeral arrangements will be private at the convenience of the family. Memorial donations may be made to Waterbury VNA Health Care & Hospice, 50 Brookside Drive, Waterbury, Connecticut, 06708 or the Kennebunkport Conservation Trust, 57 Gravelly Brook Rd, Kennebunkport, Maine 04046.
