NAUGATUCK — Lucy T. (Capello) Galiette, 93, of Naugatuck, passed away peacefully Saturday, Aug. 25, 2012, under the care of VITAS at Waterbury Hospital. She was the beloved wife of 62 years of the late Dominic J. Galiette.

She was born Sept. 19, 1918, in Naugatuck, the daughter of the late Vito and Marie (Sabia) Capello. A graduate of Naugatuck High School, she was the owner and hairdresser for over 35 years of Galiette's Beauty Salon in Naugatuck. Her customers experienced great beauty care, including complementary lunch and chauffeur service provided by her husband, Dom.

She was a beloved wife, mother, grandmother and great-grandmother who cherished her family and was extremely proud of all her children and grandchildren's accomplishments. She was a devoted friend to many and would do as much as she could to help them out when in need. She was deeply religious and was a communicant of St. Vincent Ferrer Church in Naugatuck

Lucy is survived by her two children, a daughter, Sandra M. Santarsiero and her husband, Leonard, of Naugatuck, and a son, John J. Galiette and his wife, Mary Eileen, of Naugatuck. She also leaves seven grandchildren, Leonard Santarsiero, Mary Beth Santarsiero, Donna Mulhall, Nicole Galiette, Christopher Santarsiero, Amy Santarsiero and Matthew Galiette; and 11 great-grandchildren, Chloe and Rory Stults, Ryan and Mia Galiette, Jack, Emma, Will, Charlotte and Caroline Mulhall, and Willow and Tess Santarsiero.

Having multiple medical issues throughout her life, the family would like to extend its deepest thanks, especially to Dr. Ralph Tremaglio, Dr. Stanley Hersh, and the numerous home health care givers throughout her life for the outstanding care, compassion and kindness they provided her. Despite her medical problems, she was a determined fighter who would not give in to these illnesses until she was ready to say it is time to go.

A funeral Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Tuesday, Aug. 28, 2012, at 10 a.m. at St. Vincent Ferrer Church, 1006 New Haven Road, Naugatuck. There are no calling hours.
