Francis John “Frank” Wieduwilt, age 85, of Cheshire entered into rest on Thursday, March 9, 2017. He was the devoted husband of Lucille Wieduwilt for over 58 years. Frank was born on July 18, 1931 in Cornwall, NY, son of the late Fred and Theresa Wieduwilt.
Frank served his country with honor and pride with the US Army and obtained his Bachelor’s degree in mechanical engineering from Brooklyn Polytech. He worked for Uniroyal as a Computer Analyst for 30 years, and continued in his industry working for several companies such as Sikorsky Aircraft, Greenwich Hospital, Ames and Anthem Blue Cross Blue Shield, until his retirement in 2002. Frank enjoyed doing the NY Times Sunday Crossword Puzzles and was a lifelong train enthusiast. He took pleasure working outside in his yard and loved spending time with his wife, children and grandchildren.
In addition to his wife, Lucille, Frank is survived by his son, Mark Wieduwilt and his wife, Karen of New Hartford; and his daughter, Nancy Johnson and her husband, Rick of Cheshire; his cherished granddaughters, Emma, Sara and Clare Wieduwilt and his loving sister, Margaret Erikson of MA and formerly of Monroe, NY. He was predeceased by his son, Thomas Wieduwilt.
Services for Frank will be held privately and at the convenience of his family. The Alderson-Ford Funeral Home of Cheshire has been entrusted with his care.
