Funeral Tuesday
PROSPECT - Elizabeth “Betty" A. Francois, 78, of Prospect, beloved wife of Donald R. Francois Sr., passed away peacefully on Friday, Jan. 21, 2011, at Meridian Manor. Born in Danbury on April 23, 1932, to the late Henry and Charlotte (Moore) Young, Betty was a Prospect resident for much of her life. She was a wonderful, caring woman who enjoyed reading, puzzle building, baking and NASCAR racing, especially Jeff Gordon. She was a devoted wife, mother and grandmother who will be missed dearly.
In addition to her husband of 58 years, Betty is survived by her sons, Don and his wife, Karen, of Ellington, Tim and his wife, Kathy, of Prospect, Ron and his wife, Debria, of Cheshire, Bob and his wife, Susan, of Ft. Myers, Fla., and Jim of Cleveland, Ohio; her sister, Carol Hannigan; her grandchildren, Danielle, Jonathan, David, Gregory, Brian, Robbie, Becky, Jim and Christopher; her step grandchildren, Jenny and Brian; her great-grandchildren, Zachary and Cheyenne; her dear friend, Bev; and many nieces and nephews. Betty was predeceased by her son, Thom.
A service celebrating Betty's life will be held on Tuesday, Jan. 25, 2011, at 10 a.m. at the Buckmiller Brothers Funeral Home, 26 Waterbury Road, Route 69, Prospect. Burial will follow at the Prospect Center Cemetery. Calling hours will be held on Monday from 5 to 7 p.m.
