Theresa Fernandez

NAUGATUCK — Theresa Marie Fernandez, 87, passed away Saturday morning, Feb. 1, 2014, at Waterbury Hospital. She was the wife of the late Anthony Fernandez.

Theresa was born in Queens, N.Y., on May 11, 1926, and was the daughter of the late Joseph and Julia (Cochrane) Oliva. She worked for cleaning services until her retirement and was also a homemaker. She enjoyed knitting and spending time with her family especially her loving grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

She is survived by four daughters, Francine Bove and her husband, Steven, of Naugatuck, Mona Almona of Bellmore, N.Y., Theresa Donovan of Rego Park, N.Y., and Rita Fernandez of North Plainfield, N.J. Theresa also leaves four grandchildren and five great-grandchildren.

Calling hours will be held on Monday, Feb. 3, 2014, at the Buckmiller Brothers Funeral Home, 26 Waterbury Road, Route 69, Prospect, from 5 to 7 p.m. Her funeral will be held privately in Queens, N.Y.
