NAUGATUCK, CT Robert E. Fenton, 91, passed away peacefully on September 4, 2024, surrounded by his loving family.

Bob was born June 11, 1933 in Waterbury, CT a son of the late David William and Anne Marie Fenton, and was raised in Naugatuck where he made his forever home. He proudly served in the United States Army and was a retired employee of the chemical division of Uniroyal, Inc.

He leaves behind many family members; a sister-in-law, a nephew, five nieces, and multiple cousins as well as many friends all of whom were touched by his warm spirit and big heart. In addition to his parents, Bob was predeceased by his brothers, William, James and John “Jack” Fenton.

Bob enjoyed horse racing, with countless trips to Saratoga with his brothers, Jimmy and Jack, where they shared many memorable moments. Bob was an avid baseball fan and was especially passionate about the Detroit Tigers.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated Monday, September 9, 2024 at 10:00am at St. Francis of Assisi Church, 318 Church Street, Naugatuck. Those attending are kindly asked to please meet directly at church. Burial with military honors will follow in St. James Cemetery, Naugatuck. There are no calling hours and arrangements have been entrusted to the Buckmiller Thurston Mengacci Funeral Home, 82 Fairview Avenue, Naugatuck. In lieu of flowers and to honor Bob’s memory, the family requests donations be made to Peter J. Foley Little League, 299 Scott St., P.O. Box 452, Naugatuck, CT 06770.

Rest in peace, Bob. You will be deeply missed, and your spirit, kindness, and love will forever be remembered and cherished.
