Naugatuck, CT Carmelo Fazzino, 53, died peacefully on December 28, 2016 at St. Mary’s Hospital.
Carmelo was born on March 20, 1963 in Sortino, Sicily, Italy a son of Giuseppa (Giuliano) Fazzino and the late Giuseppe Fazzino and had lived in Naugatuck for most of his life.
In addition to his mother of Naugatuck, Carmelo is survived by his brother, Sibby Fazzino and his wife Tracy of Naugatuck; his son, Carmelo Anthony Fazzino of Waterbury; his uncles, Vincenzo Giuliano and Cesare Giuliano both of Italy and several cousins.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated Tuesday, January 3, 2017 at 10:00am at St. Francis of Assisi Church, 318 Church Street, Naugatuck. Burial will follow in St. James Cemetery. Calling hours are Monday, January 2, 2017 from 5-8pm at the Buckmiller Thurston Mengacci Funeral Home, 82 Fairview Avenue, Naugatuck. In lieu of flowers, contributions can be made to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital, 501 St. Jude Place, Memphis, TN 38105, or to the Harold Leever Regional Cancer Center, 1075 Chase Parkway, Waterbury, CT 06708.
