CHESHIRE - Evelyn Milliken, 83, passed away Monday, April 4, 2016 at Masonicare Health Center Hospice Unit in Wallingford, after a courageous battle with cancer. She was the wife of Major Charles E. Milliken.
Mrs. Milliken was born December 26, 1932 in Lawrenceville County, IL, the daughter of the late Robert E. and Edith Elma (McBride) Gillum. She was a longtime Cheshire resident and was known by many as an Artist who enjoyed painting. Evelyn was also a long standing member of Society of Decorative Painters and the Connecticut Yankee Painters.
Besides her husband of 65 years, Mrs. Milliken is survived by her children, Margo D'Amico and her husband Pat of Cheshire, Marcella Krohn and her husband Seth of Cheshire, and Martine Ozycz and her husband Jack of Old Saybrook; her daughter-in-law, Kelly McQuire Milliken; her sisters, Opal Westgate of Florida and Marilyn Hayes of Indiana; her grandchildren, Justin Milliken, Shannon Metzler, Alison Tetterton, Colby, Courtney and Shelby Milliken, Brandon and Angela D'Amico, Maxwell and Alexandra Krohn, Samuel, Mallory and Olivia Ozycz; her great grandchildren, Noah, Evelyn and Tristian Milliken, Abigail and Emily Tetterton, Vincent, Edward and James D'Amico. Mrs. Milliken is predeceased by her children Marcia Metzler and Mark Milliken.
Arrangements – Visitation will be held on Friday April 8, 2016 from 5 to 7 p.m. at the Alderson-Ford Funeral Home of Cheshire, 615 S. Main St. Funeral services and burial in Arlington National Cemetery will be held at the convenience of the family.
