Eunice W. Chase, 86, of Cheshire, beloved wife, mother, grandmother, sister and aunt, passed away peacefully on March 18, 2022 at Southington Care Center in Southington. Eunice was born on July 13, 1935 in Waterbury. She was the daughter of the late Carl and Mary Wester.
She is a 1953 graduate of Wilby High School in Waterbury. After high school, she worked as a secretary at Cheshire High School as well as the former Modern Milk facility. She left work in 1966 to become a full-time wife, mother and homemaker. Eunice was passionate about children, and for many years she owned and operated her own home day care center. Eunice loved to talk and laugh and was a longtime friend to many. She was a skilled drawer and painter, knitter, and all-around crafter. She cherished her collections of dolls and bells.
Eunice is survived by Henry Chase, her devoted husband of nearly 61 years. She also leaves behind her daughter, Carla Chase Cree and her husband Chris of Dallas, Texas; her son, John Chase and his wife Christy of Cheshire; grandchildren, Faith and Henry Cree, and Tanner, Jared and Riley Chase; her brother, Robert Wester and his wife Patricia; and many nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her parents, Carl and Mary Wester, her brother, Carl Wester, Jr. and her sister, Jean Wester Sweeney.
Family and friends may pay their respects on Tuesday, March 22, 2022 from 4 p.m. to 6 p.m. at the Alderson-Ford Funeral Home of Cheshire, 615 South Main St., Cheshire, CT. A Sharing of Memories will conclude the evening at 6 p.m. at the funeral home.
