CHESHIRE - Erwin E. Pryde, 84, passed away Tuesday March 4, 2014 at CT Hospice in Branford. He was the husband of Cynthia (Anderson) Pryde.
Mr. Pryde was born December 16, 1929 in New Haven, the son of the late Frederick and Florence (Meinsen) Pryde. He served his country during the Korean War in the U.S. Air Force and graduated from Quinnipiac University with his Bachelors in Business. He was a long time Cheshire resident where he was a member of the Cheshire Lutheran Church. He was employed by SNET where he worked as a manager in the Engineering Department until his retirement in the early 1990s. He was a member of the Telephone Pioneers of America.
Besides his wife of 48 years, Mr. Pryde is survived by his children Kendra Wickers and her husband William of Naugatuck, Gretchen Buys and her husband James of Higganum, Curtis Pryde of Cheshire, and Deborah Kauffman and her husband Charles of Brielle, NJ; as well as his five grandchildren Ryan and Allison Buys, Mikayla Pryde, Charles IV and Cole E. Kauffman.
Arrangements - Funeral services will be held on Saturday March 8, 2014, 9:15 from the Alderson Funeral Home of Cheshire 615 S. Main St., to Cheshire Lutheran Church 660 West Main St. for services at 10 a.m. Burial will follow with military honors in Fairview Cemetery in New Britain.
