Errol Joel DeLott

Errol Joel DeLott, 84, of Cheshire, CT, beloved husband of Mickey DeLott, passed away peacefully surrounded by his loving family on June 15, 2023, following a sudden illness. Errol was born on May 15, 1939, in Hartford, CT, to the late Zelda and Benjamin DeLott.

A proud alumnus of Babson College, Errol served with honor in the United States Army. After his military service, he embarked on a rewarding career in the insurance industry and later in sales for Nestle Fundraising, where he earned numerous accolades for his exceptional skills.

An accomplished saxophonist, Errol held a cherished place in the Cheshire Community Band. He was also a devoted member of the Probus Club of Greater New Haven for 40 years, where he formed many lifelong friendships.

Renowned for his kindness and humor, Errol is survived by his wife, Mickey, his daughter Sheri and her husband Steve of Laguna Niguel, CA, his son Jeff and his wife Cynthia of Guilford, CT, and his treasured grandchildren, Alexa and Trevor. Errol was predeceased by his sister Linda and his parents, Benjamin and Zelda.

The family would like to express their deep gratitude to the staff in the Intensive Care Unit at Hartford Hospital for their compassionate care during Errol's illness.

Family and friends are invited to pay their respects on Monday, June 19, at the Alderson-Ford Funeral Home of Cheshire, 615 South Main Street, Cheshire, CT. Calling hours will begin at 9:30 a.m., followed by a service at 10:00 a.m. A graveside service will take place at 12:30 p.m. at the Hartford City Lodge Cemetery, 313 Tower Ave., Hartford, CT.
