WALLINGFORD - Ernest Josephson, of Ashlar Village, died peacefully at the age of 88, on Friday, April 20, 2018 after a long battle with cancer. He was the husband of the late Carole (Parker) Josephson, who passed away in 2014.

Mr. Josephson was born May 20, 1929 in New Haven, the son of the late Carl and Olga (Larson) Josephson. He served his country in the Navy during WWII and had worked at DSD Manufacturing Co. for 14 years. He was a Craft Leader at Medical Fabrications for 31 years, retiring in 1996.

Mr. Josephson was a longtime Cheshire resident where he was a charter member of the Cheshire Lutheran Church.

He is survived by his daughters Lynn Scimone and her husband Fred of Wallingford and Leigh Giampietro and her husband Phil of Cheshire; his grandchildren Rebecca Welch and her husband Kevin, Philip Giampietro and his wife Jess, John Scimone and his wife Faith, Brian Giampietro and his wife Katie, Michelle Weiss and her husband Karl; his five great grandchildren; his sister Stina Neal of Cheshire; as well as many nieces and nephews. Besides his parents, he is predeceased by his brother Nils Josephson

Arrangements – Funeral services will be held on Tuesday, April 24, 2018 with visitation beginning at 8:30 am at the Alderson-Ford Funeral Home of Cheshire, 615 South Main St. and proceeding to Cheshire Lutheran Church, for a funeral service at 10 am. Burial will follow in Cheshire Hillside Cemetery. Memorial contributions may be made to Cheshire Lutheran Church, 660 W. Main St., Cheshire, 06410 or to St. Jude’s Children’s research Hospital, 262 Danny Thomas Pl., Memphis, TN 38105.
