Ernest Hallenborg

Waterbury ' Ernest J. Hallenborg Sr., 79, of Waterbury, passed away Saturday January 2, 2010 at St. Mary's Hospital after a brief illness. He was the husband of Barbara (Truelove) Hallenborg.

Mr. Hallenborg was born August 30, 1930 in Waterbury the son of the late John E. and Bertha (Wells) Hallenborg. He was a life-long Waterbury resident working as a Floor Manager for Woolworths for 46 years. Mr. Hallenborg was a Korean War Veteran serving in the Marines. He was an enthusiastic sports fan watching the Yankees, Giants, and UCONN as well as coaching locally.

Besides his wife of 58 years, Mr. Hallenborg is survived by his son Ernest Hallenborg Jr. and his wife Charlene of Watertown; his daughter Linda S. Hallenborg of Waterbury; and his grandson Ryan Hallenborg. He is predeceased by his sons Thomas and Richard as well as his sister Roberta Hallenborg.

Arrangements ' Funeral services will be held on Wednesday January 6, 2010 at 10 a.m. at the Alderson Funeral Home of Waterbury, 9 Holmes Ave. Burial will follow in New Pine Grove Cemetery.
