Elizabeth Diane Larsen

Elizabeth Diane (Jones) Larsen, age 79, of Naugatuck passed away on Wednesday, January 31,2024 at her home with her family at her side. She was the devoted wife of Arthur Larsen for over 35 years. Diane was born March 13,1944 in Port Chester, NY, daughter of the late Daniel and Elizabeth (Gazso) Jones. Diane grew up in Byram before making Naugatuck her home.

She worked for several IGA grocers until her retirement from Oliver’s Supermarket in Prospect in 2013. Diane was an avid reader and loved being surrounded by her books. She also enjoyed her trips to the CT casinos with her DD coffee in hand. She was a castle and lighthouse aficionado, resulting in her and Art having many adventures throughout New England. Her sarcastic sense of humor was an art, a zing, but always with love and a laugh. Raising 3 boys, close in age, was a testament to her strength and patience. She was quick with a smile and a story, making friends easily, some for the moment and some for a lifetime.

In addition to her husband Arthur, Diane is survived by her loving sons, James (Ashley) of North Kingston, RI; Scott (Carolyn) of Great Barrington, MA; and Devean Gwiazdzinski of South Kingston, RI; her step daughter, Kim Larsen of Seattle, WA and her daughter-in-law, Laura Skrobe of South Kingston, RI. She is also survived by her cherished grandchildren, Arianna, Dylan, Ella and Finn. Also left to honor her memory, are Art's sisters, Karen (Jake) Johns; and Anna Behunick; his brother, Peter Larsen; and his nieces. She will be missed as well by her lifelong friends, Patricia Bauer (Gary) and Joseph Marrello; her former husband, James Gwiazdzinski and her fur baby, Della.

Services for Diane will be private and at the convenience of her family. The Alderson-Ford Funeral Home of Naugatuck has been entrusted with her care. Memorial contributions may be made to your local SPCA. To leave condolences online for her family, please visit www.fordfh.com.
