Elizabeth "Betty" McGrath Brennan, age 100, of Waterbury entered into rest on Tuesday, April 22, 2014 at Wolcott View Manor. She was the devoted wife of the late Martin "Marty" J. Brennan for 60 years. Betty was born on September 23, 1913 in Waterbury, daughter of the late Edmund and Anna Hanley McGrath.
Betty was a lifelong resident of Waterbury and a graduate of Waterbury Catholic High School.
She is the beloved mother-in-law of Ann Brennan of Southbury. Betty is also survived by her cherished grandchildren; Martin J. Brennan, III and his wife Jada Breegle of McLean, VA and Sheila A. Brennan and her husband Ian Bird of Arlington, VA; her nephew Stephen McGrath and his wife Christine of Litchfield and her niece Ellen McGrath Spencer of FL. She was predeceased by her son Martin J. Brennan, Jr., and her brothers Edmund, Francis, John and Leonard McGrath.
A private Graveside Service will be held for Betty at the convenience of her family in the New St. Joseph's Cemetery in Waterbury. A Memorial Service will be announced at a later date. Mulville Funeral Home has been entrusted with her arrangements. Memorial contributions may be made to the National Federation for the Blind Connecticut:
