WATERBURY- Elizabeth A. “Betty” Griffin, 79, passed away, with family and friends by her side on Friday, March 10, 2017 at Autumn Lake Health Care at Bucks Hill.

She was born July 12, 1937, daughter of the late Thomas and Mary (Tata) Griffin.

Betty was a graduate of Wilby High School. She was an Administrator for the State of Connecticut Board of Accountancy, and worked for Citizen Services of the City of Waterbury prior to her retirement.

Ms. Griffin will always be known for being a diehard democrat, where she was involved in countless Waterbury Elections. She was an avid fan of both UConn and the Boston Red Sox. She will always be known for being a kind dedicated family member, and friend. Betty will be missed by all of her close friends at the Community Restaurant “The Cave”.

Betty is survived by two brothers Patrick Griffin and Joseph Griffin of Waterbury; and countless nieces and nephews.

Arrangements- Calling hours for Betty will be held Wednesday, March 15, 2017 from 5 to 7 P.M at The Alderson-Ford Funeral Home of Waterbury, 9 Holmes Ave, 06710. Ms. Griffin’s funeral will start 8:45 A.M, Thursday, March 16, 2017, from the funeral home and proceed to the Basilica of the Immaculate Conception, 74 West Main St, 06702, for a funeral mass at 9:30 A.M. Burial will be held at the convenience of the family. At the request of her family, memorial contributions may be made to the American Cancer Society, 825 Brook St., I-91 Tech Ctr., Rocky Hill, CT 06067-3045.
