Elizabeth Alexander

WATERBURY- Mrs. Elizabeth T. (Dowie) Alexander, 93, formerly of Wallingford and Waterbury, passed away Wednesday Dec. 7th, 2011 at the home of her daughter in Naugatuck. She was the widow of Thomas J. Alexander who passed away in 1992 after almost 50 years of marriage.

Mrs. Alexander wad born in Johnstone, Scotland, Sept. 18, 1918, a daughter of the late Thomas and Christina (Mills) Dowie and had been a resident of Wallingford for the past 8 years, formerly living in Waterbury for many years. She was a member of the Mill Plain Union Church.

She leaves a son Peter M. Alexander of Oakville; 3 daughter, Christina A. Waterhouse of Dallas, Ga., Jean E. Horan of Naugatuck, and Susan A. Mills of Trenton, N.J.; 9 grandchildren and 11 great-grandchildren.

A memorial service will be held on Saturday Dec. 10, 2011 at Mill Plain Union Church. Burial will be private in New Pine Grove Cemetery Waterbury. There are no calling hours. Memorial contributions may be made to the Mill Plain Union Church, Southmayd Rd., Waterbury. The Alderson Funeral Home of Naugatuck, 201 Meadow St. is in charge of arrangements.
