Eleanor Petuch

Mrs. Eleanor M. (Cavanaugh) Petuch, 90, of Cheshire passed away Saturday May 30, 2009 at her home. She was the widow of Walter M. Petuch, Sr.

Mrs. Petuch was born October 26, 1918 in New Haven a daughter of the late Patrick and Agnes (Cummings) Cavanaugh and has been a Cheshire resident for the past 41 years. She was educated in New Haven schools and was a graduate of Commercial High School. She was employed at Federal Paper Board in New Haven for many years and had also worked in the cafeteria at Yale New Haven Hospital.

She leaves her sons, Walter M. Petuch, Sr. of Cheshire and John F. Petuch of Watertown and her grandsons, Ryan, Daniel and Matthew Petuch. She was predeceased by her brothers, John, James and William Cavanaugh and her sister Agnes Hess.

Funeral services for Mrs. Petuch will be held Friday at 10 a.m. at the Slater Funeral Home 242 South Main Street in Cheshire. Burial will follow in St. Bridget Cemetery in Cheshire.
