CHESHIRE- Eileen Marian Flynn, 59 of Cheshire, died suddenly at her home in Cheshire, Connecticut on April 12, 2013. Eileen was born in Jersey City, N.J, April 28, 1954, the youngest daughter and fifth child of the late Margaret (Crean) Flynn and Michael F. Flynn.
Eileen was a graduate of Sacred Heart Academy in Hamden, Connecticut, and attended Southern CT State University. She had a 30 year career in retail services. Eileen was a prime example of the eager reader and learner; she was well-read in British history and spent hours watching the film Henry V with her brother-in-law Tom Gubanich. Family dinners and parties were always enlivened by her passionate views on politics, the Church, and sports. Generous and loyal, Eileen was for many years a loving companion and caregiver to her mother Peg. Her warmth and company will be especially missed by her brother-in-law John L. Harris.
She was the much loved sister of Maribeth, Peggy, Matthew, Martin and especially Patti Flynn-Harris. Eileen is mourned by her sister-in-law Catherine Kogut Flynn, her nephews, Devin and Brendan Flynn, her special nephew Zachary Harris, his wife Heather and great-nephews Ethan and Eli Harris. She is also survived by her brother Michael, his wife Maria and their children Shannon and Sean.
Services will be announced at a later date. There are no calling hours, The Alderson Funeral Home of Cheshire, 615 South Main St. is in charge of arrangements. Donations in Eileen's name may be made to the Friends of Cheshire Public Library, Cheshire, Connecticut.
