CHESHIRE – Edward J. Robinson, 70, passed away Monday July 21, 2014 at his home. He was the husband of Dorothy (Davis) Robinson.
Mr. Robinson was born May 19, 1944 in Yonkers, NY the son of the late George and Florence (Maloney) Robinson. He was a graduate of Blessed Sacrament High School in New Rochelle and continued his education at Manhattan College where he obtained his Bachelor's Degree in Business. He loved playing Rugby and was a member of the New York Rugby Club, the New York Athletic Club and the CT Grey Rugby Club. He was also a founding member of the Cheshire Rugby program. Mr. Robinson was an avid Notre Dame Football fan and a devoted member of Faith Living Church in Plantsville.
Besides his wife of 35 years, Mr. Robinson is survived by his daughter Kelly of New York City, his son Brendan of Cheshire; his brother George Robinson and his wife Carol of Levittown, PA; his sisters Catherine Clark and her husband Charles of Yonkers, NY, Trudy Robinson and her companion Vic Sesto of Milford, CT and Nancy Boyd and her companion Richard Maguire of Ossining, NY; as well as his brother and sister-in-law Robert and Gail Davis. He is predeceased by his sons Sean and Patrick.
Arrangements – Visitation will be held on Friday July 25, 2014 from 5 to 8 p.m. at the Alderson-Ford Funeral Home of Cheshire, 615 S. Main St. A Memorial Service to celebrate his life will be held on Sunday, August 10th at 2:30 PM at Faith Living Church, 20 Grove St., in Plantsville. Burial will be held at the convenience of the family. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made payable to CT Grey RFC which will establish a scholarship in Ed's name for the game he loved (note "EJR Scholarship" on memo line) and mailed to the E.J. Robinson Memorial Scholarship, PO Box 123, Marion, CT 06444-0123.
