Edward J. Gargonia, age 63, of Waterbury, and formerly of Middlebury, entered into rest on Saturday, November 4, 2017at RegalCare at Waterbury after a long illness.
He was born on March 14, 1954 in Waterbury, son of the late Edward J. Gargonia, Sr. and Ida (Pavone) Horn.
Ed owned and operated Ed’s Painting and Restoration in Waterbury. He enjoyed camping with his family at Burlingame in Charleston, RI and Black Rock State Park, and spending time at the beach in Misquamicut and Milford, where they would rent cottages. Ed had an appreciation for golf and was a slot machine and online poker enthusiast; but most of all, he loved being a grandpa to his cherished grandchildren.
He is the beloved father of Lee Gargonia and his fiancée, Dana of Middlebury; Edward J. Gargonia, III and his girlfriend, Jenna of Waterbury; and Jackie Gargonia of Waterbury. Ed is the loving grandfather of Anthony Gargonia, Anthony and Vanessa Keller and Brenden Gaillard. He is also survived by his step-mother, Liz Gargonia of Vero Beach, FL, step-father, John “Jack” Horn of Waterbury; and his former spouses, Doreen Kaminski of Prospect and Zedra Primus of Enid, OK.
Friends are invited to greet Ed’s family at the Alderson-Ford Funeral Home of Waterbury, 496 Chase Avenue, Waterbury, CT 06704 on Wednesday, November 8, 2017 from 5PM until 7PM. Burial will be private and at the convenience of his family.
