NAUGATUCK; Mr. Edward F. Kaupinas, 89 of Naugatuck passed away Thursday January 27, 2022 at Vitas Hospice at ST. Mary’s Hospital in Waterbury with Ronni Russell at his side.
Edward was born November 8, 1932 to the late Gaston and Monica Kaupinas. He attended area schools and worked for the Town of Cheshire Board of Education retiring after 38 years of service. He loved traveling the east coast and enjoyed antiquing and craft fairs. He enjoyed going to lunch every day whether it be Blackies for hot dogs, Red Rose Pizza in Springfield, MA, the Olive Garden for spaghetti, Grampa’s Restaurant for potato pancakes or enjoying seafood from the Boilery and Grill. Edward loved to travel to different churches to attend Mass and church dinners, especially the Neon Dinners at St. Michael’s Church on the green in Naugatuck. He liked meeting new people, loved to laugh and tell stories of his youth. Edward was very generous, loving and caring and loved animals, especially dogs.
He leaves his adopted family, Ronni Russell, her son Paul Johnson and his wife Sara Silverberg and their son Marc Johnson and Roberta and Alyson Synder. He also leaves his cousins Barbara Kennedy and Elaine Longino and his close friends Joey and Maria Oliveira.
A memorial service in celebration of Edward’s life will be held in the spring. The Alderson-Ford Funeral Home of Naugatuck 201 Meadow Street has care of arrangements.
